Mission Statement
| The Department of Chemistry enlists the support and guidance of an advisory board to provide a link between academic initiatives and leaders in the chemical profession. |
| The activities of the Advisory Board are as follows: |
.. to advise the Department of Chemistry on department activities including
- degree programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level
- research programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level
- outreach activities in the local, regional and national areas
- program quality assessment
.. to work with the Department of Chemistry to enhance industrial-government-academic cooperation in the areas of
- federal and state research grants and contracts
- industrial research projects and contracts
- curriculum development and continuing education opportunities
- co-op opportunities, internships, scholarships and seminar programs
- placement and assessment of graduates
- recruitment of undergraduate students, graduate students, and new faculty
- developing intellectual property and licensing agreements
Board Activities
| The Advisory Board meets two times per year. Members may be asked to provide additional advice, serve on ad-hoc advisory committees, and become involved in other departmental activities. |
Financial Commitment
| Members of the Department of Chemistry Advisory Board or their employers contribute a minimum of $5,000.00 per year for the support of the departmental programs. |
