Department of Chemistry Advisory Board
 

Mission Statement

The Department of Chemistry enlists the support and guidance of an advisory board to provide a link between academic initiatives and leaders in the chemical profession.
The activities of the Advisory Board are as follows:

.. to advise the Department of Chemistry on department activities including

  1. degree programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level
  2. research programs at both the graduate and undergraduate level
  3. outreach activities in the local, regional and national areas
  4. program quality assessment

.. to work with the Department of Chemistry to enhance industrial-government-academic cooperation in the areas of

  1. federal and state research grants and contracts
  2. industrial research projects and contracts
  3. curriculum development and continuing education opportunities
  4. co-op opportunities, internships, scholarships and seminar programs
  5. placement and assessment of graduates
  6. recruitment of undergraduate students, graduate students, and new faculty
  7. developing intellectual property and licensing agreements

Board Activities

The Advisory Board meets two times per year. Members may be asked to provide additional advice, serve on ad-hoc advisory committees, and become involved in other departmental activities.

Financial Commitment

Members of the Department of Chemistry Advisory Board or their employers contribute a minimum of $5,000.00 per year for the support of the departmental programs.
